Toothache

Toothache is one of the most unpleasant things in life.

If you suffer from sudden toothache, please immediately call us during opening hours. We will do everything we can to relieve you of your pain as soon as possible.

General rules of conduct

Avoid heat, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine
Over-the-counter painkillers such as Aspirin® and Ibuprofen® can be taken temporarily (not for several days) in moderation, but not immediately prior to your emergency appointment.

Onset swelling

  • Avoid physical exertion
  • Permanent cooling
  • Keep your head elevated

Gingivitis

  • Rinsing with chlorhexidine, chamomile or sage solutions
  • Please do not use mouthwash. Please also visit us once the symptoms have subsided.

Wisdom tooth pain

  • Rinsing with chlorhexidine, chamomile or sage solutions. Cool well when swelling begins.

Discomfort when teething

  • Give your baby a chilled teething ring.
  • Ointments or teething gels can bring pain relief. These can also be obtained from your pharmacist.
  • Homeopathic remedies, such as Osanite globules can also bring relief. These can also be obtained from your pharmacist.

Postoperative bleeding after surgery

  • With local pressure (biting on a sponge or clean cloth handkerchief), the bleeding can be stopped in most cases.
  • If this is not enough, please contact us immediately and we will undertake further measures to stop the bleeding.
  • It is important that you follow our general instructions.
